Is there any evolutionary advantage, maybe related to humans being social animals, to like listening to music ?

animals also find music soothing. Cows are a good example, snakes in baskets (not sure if this is a meme or not), and I'm sure there are many other examples. Music for me is soothing when its nostalgic, or makes me feel sad/happy, or "jives" with whatever emotional mood I feel at that time. The fact that animals are also soothed by music means that (1) there's a deeper more fundamental reason I'm completely missing or (2) they're interested in the noise and nothing else

That's pretty interesting, there are also animals that actually fear music (not simply uninterested, they don't like it)
