/sci/ (collectively) is likely one of the dumbest boards on 4chan, down there with the likes of /pol/ and /s4s/. I have been here some years and have come to realize that this board is literally the home of unsuccessful brainlets who larp as intellectuals. How do I know most of /sci/ is unsuccessful? Because they literally use /sci/. Anyone successful would not be here and would not be spiteful about anyone who has made it somewhere. What I mean is the tendency of this board to shit on people who have succeeded in academic fields such as that YouTuber who went on to study maths. This board is full of mediocore and average people who larped as smart their whole lives and were generally disliked by everyone around them who knew their limits.
Another massive cringe part of this board is the:

Going and taking some silly ego-booster online test which really doesn't tell much about the complex and extensive thing that real intelligence is.
And lastly the posters are generally miserable sacks of flesh who keep holding on to their IQ larps and making hollow posts filled with vague babbel. In multiple paragraphs when you peel back the layers of psuedo-intellectual nonsense you see that what they have written is actually a sentence or two worth of actual common information and the rest is vague filler to make them sound smart.

Now I'm not out here to act like I'm some intellectual messiah either, I know my limits and where I fall very short in academic fields so don't get the wrong idea. The only thing this board is smart in is mimicking and pretending to be smart.
But I have to say, not all of the board is like that, there are some genuinelly wonderful and intelligent people I have met along the way who are humble, don't rely on a number to grade their intellect and in general improve themselves and help others.
