first time on /sci/, figured this would be the best place to find info. i used to have a crappy plastic telescope as a kid. ive recently gotten the desire to get into stargazing and astronomy but dont know anything about the equipment other than basics like telescope types. anyone here got recommendations for an amateur rig? something portable enough to drive out away from light pollution and set up to watch the stars? currently have some cheapo binoculars for moon watching, but i hate all the shaking and want something with a tripod. oh well not sure how cancerous this board is and i dont know about board specific memes so if this shit has been asked before go easy on me. thanks
