>>12019291aristotle was excellent, the organon in particular, and is the only guy i return to now other than kants logic, sometimes hegel, and, very occasionally, plato for teh lulz
i recommend instrument study, as do the greeks, it will really open you up to the subtle mechanics of the human body, same with gymnastics/rock climbing/surfing/yoga/kungfu
its mind boggling complexity that matches up in a very pleasing way with traditional systems of logic
>>12019301i say, if u think u want to read it, absolutely go thru it and do try to do it in order, though i wouldnt say u have to read /all/ of it in order, but hit the main figures from each section. most of my time was spent deep in greece, really trying to break my historicity and trying to know what it was to an ancient greek to be greek. they knew they were young
i made it thru to nietzsche, and wouldnt waste another hour of my life reading the shit
there comes a point where application > theory, but absolutely do spend the time learning theory. the real benefits are massive gains to your working intuition. you will live a qualitatively different experience if u spend a few years working through that guide, but dont say u werent warned, its a mixed bag. thing is, if youre of a certain kind, it wont be a choice, youll be involuntarily compelled to do the work
if youre a certain kind of person, it wont really be an option, youll slave away at it, obsess over it all, have massive wonderful emotional episodes with the works of ancient thinkers, it was a crazy process
find lectures, take mad notes, write your own essays
i have no regrets
