Why doesn’t higher education filter brainlets anymore? I’ve seen friends I know for a fact to have unremarkable intelligence graduate from medical school and others who became engineers but when push comes to shove and they’re forced to tackle engineering problems outside the highly specialized job they’ve trained for they’re completely clueless. People who were properly educated in these fields in the past went on to discover new phenomena, invent new gadgets, write treatises, and contribute with their peers to a rich academic dialogue. But now these doctors are only good for diagnosing a cold and prescribing Tylenol. These engineers can only input data into a computer which does their work for them. Wtf.
