I'm fascinated by totally isolated underground ecosystems. Like the devil worm that was found 2 miles underground in an isolated cave system. What delightfully anachronistic organism do you think we'll stumble upon next? Maybe bacteria whose LUCA predates ours and has a radically different genetic makeup?
