CA is a criminals goldmine right now. You have laws that allow up to $900 of theft to be felony free and a bunch of limp wristed unarmed liberals in million dollar houses

Tell me about it. The irony is that I'm not much of a criminal. Aside from the technical definition, although I do have a relatively small criminal record, I've never had any exceptional willingness to commit crime. I've actually been a victim of crime(violent crime in particular, from an assortment of people) more often than I've ever committed any crime.
I'm trying to achieve small amounts of revenge here, but I'm really more of the shootER type. I only hope that I take that path one day, because I've been in jail and seeing true gang members who literally spend about half of their lives in their isn't for me. Personally, I look up to guys who are willing to sacrifice their own lives, rather than gang members.

There's almost guaranteed to be some outdoor security camera footage from a neighboring apartment building, but it might not be useful considering I plan on using concealing clothing and the visibility will be poor at night, not to mention any flaws with the security camera(i.e. low framerate, bad focus, angle, etc.)

Been seen on camera someplace during that 30 minutes. Buy something, and then go back there and buy something again. Make small talk about how you're an idiot for going on an errand and forgetting the most important item. So milk, eggs, bread.

Harsher punishments have almost no effect on crime rates.
The probability of getting away with the crime is much more important.
Notice how OP is asking how to get away with a crime, not how to reduce the punishment if he gets caught.
