Oh god please help me with the pic related, I'm going at it for over an hour and I don't fucking get it, convolution hurts my brain so much.

It's discrete convolution, u is unit step function. I understand that the x(n) exists only from 0 to 9, so why isn't the second row only the sum for 0<k<9, what is this and k<n bullshit? If it's because of the u(n-k), wouldn't it be something like sum of a sum or whatever? I can't even fucking formulate the question, and I was hoping that would help me solve it, but I'm so lost I have no idea what is even happening here. ;_;

I'm not sure that you can help me then, even tho I appreciate your answer. I'm in a bit of a time crunch, so I can't really explain it to you, especially because it's clear I have issues with it too. The book is "Digital signal processing" (2015) from my professor Ljubiša Stankovic if it helps.

I'm 18 about and I spent last year perfectioning my english.
Now I have another year to study for the hardest test in my country, we have to 120 questions with 9 subjects, all of them almost AP level (idk im not american)these are the Textbooks I plan on using

I bougth a comfy desk that I will use solely to do work/study

Here’s what I do:
I research a tex with a certain metric.
Let’s say I want to buy a Spanish to English Dictionary. It must have Le Organisation Phonetique Internationale Alphabet, a word on Grammar and have complex words (not PhrasebookPleb level).
For a textbook, I’d look at the authority of the author (MD versus PhD contra the founding father himself, then the repute of the book (not reviews, but rather fame, like the Indispensable guide to C) and finally the scope of the book (for HS, for university) in addition its contents (AND YEAR).

No. You're summing over k alone so y is a function of n.

x(n) has 3 regions: zero, non-zero, zero. So there are 3 cases for the overall sum, depending upon where the step at u(n-k) falls. If the non-zero region of x lies within the non-zero region of h then y(n)=45; this is when n>9. If the non-zero region of x lies within the zero region of h then y(n)=0; this is when n<0. Otherwise, the non-zero region of x overlaps the step of h and y(n)=n(n+1)/2; this is when 0<=n<=9.

According to special relativity, light moves at the same speed (in a vacuum) for all observers. But as a result of time dilation, anything moving at the speed of light sees the universe around them "freeze". So what would a photon see if it observed another photon? Would it move or not?

does the orientation of the segments on a reflector suggest which orientation the reflector is intended to be mounted in? i have a hunch that the segments should be horizontal so that the one on the left in pic related should be oriented with the narrow side up but i haven't been able to find any discussion of this.

I've been given a couple catalytic polymers to test in reactions. The bulk of the materials are 3x3cm squares. What's the best way to cut them (either squares or rectangles) to maximize the amount of tests we can run with a single 3x3 square?
For polymer A, we need 2,5cm2 and for polymer B, 0,66 cm2 per reaction

I assume that one reactant is interacting with the other.
Let x be reactant A (in g/ml), y be reactant B (in g/ml), a is the affect of B on A (in g/ml/s/s/ml), b is the affect of of A on B (in g/ml/s/s/ml). Zeros are because the reactant doesn't react with itself.
