There are no "first principles". Everything is always in motion with something rising and other things dying away as the universe develops. Every attempt to reduce things down to axioms or "first principles" becomes metaphysics.

Metaphysics is flawed thinking because everywhere we look, we see there are no eternal truths. There is truth, but truth changes. Even the laws of physics themselves have been shown to be evolutionary, and not static or eternal.

look not everyone is living the castalian life. outside the ivory tower there's lay people like me who still have burning curiosity, but not enough time for textbooks. a happy medium between pop-sci and textbook is what i seek.
