Categories mean nothing if the community doesn't follow. If you categorize too much into sub-sub boards no one finds anything anymore, people lose interest in posting by being discouraged as they have to work through a ton of categories each time (inconvenience never wins) and you might end up with a dead board because you thought that people do exactly know what they want and would never join in on something they randomly stumbled upon and that seems interesting to them.
Shitddit already did this and it's entirely garbage among other reasons. The what you suggest is the job of the thread name and that's good enough. The boards should be broad enough to allow to randomly find interesting topics within some variety.
