If someone was to fall from a plane into an ocean about half a mile off the coast, what would be the worst way for them to fall? Assume the person has no experience with skydiving, and can therefore not take any skydiving stances.
Would they be more likely to die by spreading out as much as possible to increase their drag, thereby reducing their velocity, but being more likely to land flat on the surface of the water? Or would they be more likely to die by taking a "cannonball" position, which would reduce their drag and increase their velocity, but not land flat on the surface of the water?
Also, what are the odds of the body being recovered? Would the body get washed out never to be seen again, or would it appear on the shore a little while later?
