GPT-3

Let’s discuss GPT-3, and more generally AI and machine learning in this thread. Is it merely a gimmick? Or is it an impressive milestone in the progress of Artificial Intelligence?
>What is GPT-3?
It stands for Generative Pre-trained Transformer 3. It is an autoregressive language model developed by OpenAI. GPT uses deep learning to produce “human-like” text. It has a capacity of 175 billion machine learning parameters, which is over two orders of magnitude greater than that of its predecessor.
>What applications does this have?
Im unsure of its more practical applications, but there is a website that used GPT-3 and user input to dynamically generate stories a few lines at a time. You can check it out here: https://play.aidungeon.io

Here is an article that goes in more detail about GPT-3:https://towardsdatascience.com/gpt-3-the-new-mighty-language-model-from-openai-a74ff35346fc

What do you think? Are machine learning techniques the next step in AI? Or perhaps it’s all smoke and mirrors?
