It was 100% wrong and I warned him several times that he would make a fool of himself, but he did it anyway. To this day he still 100% believes the professor didnt like him and ridiculed him on purpose during the presentation.

You learn absolutely nothing new wrt stats but you get to do some deep learning and work with graph NNs and whatnot, as well as all the hot big data memes like hadoop, etc. I'd say statisticians have an advantage compared to the CSfags, Engineers and the random math majors that enroll. They really cant seem to wrap their heads around basic probability, much less bayesian inference. Not sure if it was just my class, but they also had no idea how to handle/clean/present data.
Overall, if you're a stats major i'd recommend it.
