1. The universe is billions of years old
2. The universe is several days old but merely appears to be billions of years old
Same goes for all of the "brain in a jar" theorists. Sure you can't disprove it but when the alternative is simply believing that "things are the way they are" I am inclined to throw away your garbage theories about reality.
