however, humans fall in a murky grey zone where a certain percentage are capable of self sacrifice, while a certain percentage are incapable of it
both strategies have merit or pro/cons so having BOTH is actually a very good strategy for survival of the human race, however maintaining the optimum ratio is critical. I'm sure you could game theory this out and run simulations if anyone were really interested.
