then policing needs a serious update or we need to submit ourselves to a full-on surveillance state. solving serious crimes is all but impossible in urban areas due to the density of foot traffic and delay in police response time.
even if we can make these (and many other changes, though admittedly most of them follow a generation raised entirely on electronic devices), architecture will still take centuries to keep pace. a lot of design work needs to be done to make cramped living appealing, although you've seen the beginnings of it in the more high-end "techno-rural" tiny homes and shit.
