If you choose something like mechanical engineering just cuz it is popular now, you'll suffer a few decades down the road cuz in 2-3 decades, noone will want mechanical engineers.

I tried that and they're literally not smart. They blew up at me when I said I want a job where I don't have to be around people since I'd probably get fired for being an autist. They just think genes don't exist and we can all actually be charming TV personalities except their behavior has been the same since forever

I might be based because i'm in EE, but from what people told me, at least in my city, mechanical jobs are hard to come by, whereas computer engineering has the most, but so are EE jobs. You also have a better chance of landing a CE job with EE than EE job with CE.
