Interesting choice of book cover for your image.
As far as careers go, the first thing to figure out is how much do you want to work with people? If you are introverted and want to minimize dealing with people, health sciences isn't for you. On the flip side, if you need to constantly connect with coworkers, computer science or actuary science is not for you.

I find myself at odds when analyzing myself. I know I am introverted, and I'd rather do something dealing with patterns/information and abstract thought, but I have no issues leading a group of people despite my preference for solitude

What are your hobbies? My dad told me that the kids who played in the mud became Civil Engineers, the kids who played pinball and slot cars became Mechanical engineers and the kids who played arcade games became electrical engineers

The best way of finding a career is by experiencing different fields. Summer schools, apprenticeships, trade school, projects, anything that allows you to have a certain degree of contact with a field. Not only you get to do some work and see if you like it or not, but you also get to see how things are done in such field - if it is a career intense in communication, if things happen slower or faster, how big the teams are, and such things.

One of my mates older brother went to Cambridge, there you dont pick a speficic field when you apply but the first ~1year is general engineering shit before they go "OI wanker, time for you pick what the fuck you'll do ya wee cunt" and then after you've had a taste of the different engineering fields do you choose.

Maybe check if the unis you're looking at have something similiar?
