Solar sails

I’ve been reading a lot on solar sails and all the studies I’ve read set 0.04AU as their closest approach to launch sails from, there doesn’t seem to be any reason why this is however. Basically the reason this is chosen is because the parks solar probe will reach this orbit, so it’s KNOWN possible proximity, but the probe was originally made to reach twice as close 0.02, what’s the limit? 0.01? 0.005? What’s the closest we could launch a solar sail from, at 0.04 Aerographite could reach 3% light speed, at 0.012AU the light is 10 times brighter and velocities as high as 0.2c may be possible. Just how close can we get?
