According to neuroscience, consciousness arises from the information transfer between billions of neurons. This process could be replicated with a sufficiently powerful computer. If you were to throw out the computer entirely and just write out all the calculations by hand, wouldn’t that also create consciousness? I know it would take probably millions of years to write out just a few seconds of thought, but still, is it possible?
