OP, you need to legit love what you are doing and the rest will come off that. Genes obviously play an important role but you can still make good contributions to science even tho you arent a 200 IQ numberphilic autist. I feel most of this board just want their name written in a shitty textbook and be remembered by some equation, but that's far from what science really is and ever will be.
