I have never seen anyone claiming there was a nuclear explosion. You may very well be the first one. The amiunt of fuel in a eeactor is big enough to rip off half of Europe, if it actually went off.

Reactors don’t have supercritical mass of fission fuel to undergo a nuclear explosion. The fuel will just get very hot and the explosion was caused by steam buildup in the core
