And those senses are prone to illusion, like seeing color where it doesn't exist. Quantum mechanics phenomenon could be the way it is because of our limited range of observation.
A better observer might have insight into such phenomena that we could not even imagine. We are basically coping through life hoping one day to understand it when we can barely understand what is limited to our senses.

You can't prove the axiom because of munchhausen's trilemma. So you are basically living in a cave all the while convincing yourself that whatever you do matters and that you're capable of understanding the universe.

Science uses math which needs proof. And the current conunudrum with quantum mechanics could be solved if we had better observational senses. We've hit a wall. What if it was the case that 1+1=3 and that we see 2 because of an unnamed visual bias that we've not yet discovered, then maybe we might be able to see quantum mechanics for what it really is if we could develop a logic around that new observational fact then base a new math on that. Lots of ifs.

Its not consistent with empiricism. If you cant see it or experience it directly, then it doesn't exist. An Empiricist in Paris would naturally have to claim that germany/russia/US/etc don't exist. Any claims of existence would disqualify them from being empiricist.

All of modern science should be seen as a footnote to Schopenhauer. Luckily science functions on presuppositions that do not require philosophical minds to utilize. If you are genuinely curious how empiricism differs from anecdote then I reccomend you read some Kant and/or Hegel and Schopenhauer; the problem of how we can 'really know the world' bothered lots of philosophers for a long time and how they arrived there explains why there are still soft sciences.

tldr or closest way to knowing reality is by simply being alive and everything branches off of that in a mess of different disagreements
