why are distant galaxies moving away from us faster and faster every year? this contradicts most string theory models and is inconsistent with general relativity unless one adds a cosmological constant in 'by hand', which Einstein referred to as his "greatest blunder". so why is the universe continuing to accelerate its expansion further and further?
