So it's pretty clear now, that over the last enlightenment period of humans that we've entered a new "mean" in which we regress to, this means that we're at a new stage in evolution. I'll paint a little picture, there were many mutations that served little benefit prior to the industrial revolution, and the growth of academia. We see people that had these mutations, but were outliers. For example Da Vinci, for every Da Vinci there were many similar outliers that didnt survive or didnt become famous. Now all of the mutations are flowing through with very little mitigation. Before you go balls out with the "whataboutism", we have many divergences that arent beneficial and wont be phased out.
