Is this really possible? Can the whole process, from the extraction of the necessary materials to their refinement to the production of energy be decoupled from the use of fossil fuels, mainly oil?
How are you going to mine uranium or thorium without oil byproduct fueled machinery? Same things for rare earths necessary for solar/wind.
How the fuck are we going to produce electricity when the EROI for fossil fuels drops too low?
