I am interested in Artificial intelligence as a way to get a structure that allows me to analyze patterns in biology, specifically how inert matter turns into life, and how said life develops mechanism to better negative itself in their enviroment, with a heavy focus on the aesthetic visual appeals of said mechanisms.

How Artificla intelligence be a good starting point for this goal? I want to know how inert matter turns into a self reproducing biomachine capable of creating its own code, and hopefully get insights on how that might be use to create new patterns that'd allow us to improve our cognition

modern AI and ML are more like the logical extreme of statistics

Downloading Tensorflow and keras is something that a bored begar can pick up. AI as it is concieved right now it is a very simple trade job. Unless you are developing statistical models to design cutting edge algorithms your career prospects will be worse than a standard web developer

if you open up the deep learning book they admit they dedicated half the book to what they considered to be solved technologies. this was also 2015 so likely what they considered nascent was also solved in the 5 years that passed

being an AI researcher sounds comfy but apparently even the research level is just changing parameters and feeding it in experimentally into nvidia's pockets
