I want to challenge the claim of 100 monkeys with typewriters with infinite time will eventually produce the works of Shakespeare.

I used to subscribe to the idea, given infinite time for them to do it. Now I am not so sure based on randomness and probability. I feel like the probability is so low it can’t be measured. It’s also a statement that randomness becomes structured given time. With you infinite time will there be a random cherry pie orbiting the sun in outer space? I think not, first it must be made and then placed there. How much time would it take a random letter generater to create the first sentence of the declaration of independence? Can that be calculated ? Suppose it can generate a letter or space every second.

Just because something can happen doesn’t mean it will happen yes? There is a chance that those monkey never even type a functional paragraph, and given infinite time wont that chance eventually happen ?
