If I study for 6 hours a day every day how long until I will be able to understand the math required for quantum mechanics? I am currently only at trigonometry.

It depends on how much you understand from learning in those 6 hours. Go through the courses on Paul's Online Math Notes, and then MIT OpenCourseWare Complex Variables and Linear Algebra. That will give you everything you need to become fluent enough in Quantum Mechanics. Add PDEs and you're golden.

Another approach, for a beginner at least, is to get an introductory physics book with modern physics and go over the quantum chapters. Cover the mathematical concepts you're unfamiliar with as they come up.

lmaooooooo only at trigonometry? you have quite some time ahead of you. after trig, do calc 1-2 using MIT's single variable calculus course on edX (MIT crams calc 1 and 2 into one course). You need basic physics before quantum, so as you do multivariable calculus on MIT OCW(it's not on edX), do MIT's classical mechanics on edX. MIT's differential equations program on edX is quite long, so I suggest you do it on OCW along with the electricity & magnetism program on edX. then do linear algebra on OCW and Vibrations & Waves on edX. Then you're ready for quantum. MIT, of course, has a program on edX for this.

each class should take 100 or so hours, so in total, 700 hours excluding quantum, or on your schedule, 120 days. an unnecessarily long time if you just want to do quantum because it's cool. if you don't have time, just watch pbs spacetime videos

Why quantum mechanics? What's the reward for measly understanding quantum mechanics? Point is that you shouldn't fucking teach yourself this unless you plan on going to college to try and contribute to the field.

Learn newtonian mechanics -> electrostatics and make some electronic projects. Not only will you find your validation, but you will also have an applicable skill!

Because QM is en extension of CM. I would strongly advise doing analytic mechanics (d'Alemberts principle, Hamiltonian principle -> Lagrange formalism and Hamilton formalism, perhaps even hamilton-jacobi) before doing QM.

I mean you can learn a couple of tricks about QM and "impress" your friends with it but you won't actually understand anything thoroughly

I don't like textbooks. But anyway I know some textbooks that you could use.
idk any calculus books, but for linear algebra I suggest Introduction to Linear Algebra by Gilbert Strang
For classical mechanics, Introduction to classical mechanics by David Morin
E&M, Electricity & Magnetism by Edward Purcell & David Morin
For the textbook route, instead of doing vibrations & waves, do analytical mechanics. Mechanics by Landau & Lifshitz teaches this, but it's very dense.
Quantum, Introduction to Quantum Mechanics by Griffiths

textbooks are expensive, of course, so I suggest that you pirate them from libgen.is if you aren't already
