Although I disagree with your use of it.
Let's define Occam's razor that we can all agree upon.
"Occam's razor, or law of parsimony is the problem-solving principle that "entities should not be multiplied without necessity."
Now let's consider 2 possibilities for these sightings
1)Man made/Natural
2) Extraterrestrial
If you take into account man made as the answer, there are few assumptions such as
a) Some kind of government secret plane
b) A natural phenomenon
Now consider the second one
Few assumptions that I could think of
a) Existence of Type 2/3 civilizations
b) Existence of supernatural speeds of travel
c) Existence of exotic energy
d) Existence of similar kinds of civilizations all over the universe
By this, the second options i.e. aliens, has more assumptions than an earthly explanation.
