No it dont. Beer contains to much water to have any effect due to additional liquid. Anyway retard, this water is so healthy thing. This was a case study with old people who!!! forget to drink any amount. If you get old it can happen that you body doesn't signal thirst anymore. And if you then run for month on like 0,2 liters per day its healthy to drink. But assuming you are normal and drink anyway 1,5-2 liters. Its just retarded.
Water wont help you retard unless you drink anyway to less. Just stop drinking so much moron.

I hardly can imagine the amount of pure alcohol or coffee you need to digest that it relay starts to dehydrate you if you have no other issues.
If you dont life from potato chips and only drink like 1 liter a day it wont help you.

my understanding is that alch. dehydrogenase oxidizes it to acetaldehyde, which acetaldehyde dehydrogenase oxidizes into acetic acid. Physiological pH is typically around 7.4, so there's no particular reason for acetic acid to be in its conjugate base form that I can think of. I can't find specific pharmacokinetics on acetic acid but I'm assuming you piss it out same as you would if you've ever had any vinegar. Maybe you could test this by seeing if homogenized hepatic cell lysate does anything interesting related to converting acetic acid to acetate. I still think the pH voids the whole issue, if you had too much acetate buildup the local pH would drop and cells don't like that very much

I'm not a chemist or biochemist, I just read studies to the best of my understanding. Looks like it may be a combo of both things. Apparently too, for heavy drinkers, the conversion to acetate actually helps the brain speed up instead of slow down since the claim was the brain starts using the acetate for energy.

My guess is that the build up of toxic acetaldehyde causes the body to piss out excess water and electrolytes. These electrolytes are needed for energy to help the body use acetaldehyde dehydrogenase to oxidize acetaldehyde to acetic acid. Just a guess. I find that drinking Vita Coco is a must to get over hangovers quickly after a heavy night of drinking, I assume because of the rich hydration and electrolytes it contains.
