yes, to graph two arrays of data othogonally, we aught to insure that our data is independent from the other. Hope is the negative correlary to Despair. So Hope can be measured as the absence of despair and vice versa So the slope of this graph $<br />\frac{\delta Hopes}{\delta Despair} = /frac{same}{units}<br />$
