>Early studies of twins estimated the heritability of autism to be more than 90%; in other words, that 90% of the differences between autistic and non-autistic individuals are due to genetic effects.[2]
If my wife has autism and we have a child, how likely is it for that child to have autism? I want to have children but I don't know if it's immoral or not. If I can give a child a better life than I got it's definitely worth it even if he/she has autism. I'm getting old and not having children is making me feel more down every year - I've wanted to start a family since even before high school. For backstory I've never been officially diagnosed autistic, but my wife has, and I have suspicions about myself also.
