Finatseride is the pill you can take that'll effectually enact hormone control on your body. In layman's terms it fucks with the testerone your body makes so as to hopefully stop the negative side effects testosterone can have on the heads of males with MPB. It's proved very effective, but there's a small chance of some ugly sexual side effects (ED, a few others), and some even rarer scarier cases (genital deformation, memory loss, depression). Some of these have show to be irreversible even if you stop taking fin pills. Like any medicine, nobody knows 100% of what it does to the human body, especially decades of taking it (or however long you care about hanging on to your hair). I unironically bought it once but never actually started taking them. DESU i could live with the sex stuff, but the really rare stuff like memory loss and deformities scared the shit out of me.
Minoxidil is just rogaine, a fluid or cream you put on your scalp. It will not stop testerone from attacking the scalp but it will mitigate it, hopefully to the point where you keep the hair you still have and maybe regrow some. Maybe not as effective as fin but less scary side effects (stuff like rashes, honestly that's all i remember)
there's the crackpot stuff like fancy shampoos, vitamins, laser treatment, that people all debate about the effectivness of. But the conensus certainly exists that none of these are as effective as the two i talked about above.
ANyways OP in your case, you just have a little balding on the crown. I wouldn't advise fin unless it starts to get much worse, and even then make sure you're cool with the side effects. Some rogaine should hopefully kill the balding happening in that area of your head.
Also i don't post there but i know /bald/ threads about these topics are regularly posted to /fit/, maybe check them out or the archives
