Some people may be able to do high level computation and problem solving, but the creativity required for major contributions to math and the sciences is insane. It's a very high level creativity too, somewhat, but not exactly, comparable to artistic/linguistic ability. Creativity itself is slightly (.2-3) correlated with intelligence, so they're not mutually exclusive, but there definitely is a difference between the intellect of someone like Peter Scholze and Matt Damon.
