I finished Data science math skills from duke university and I feel not learned anything from it. Bayesian theory for me is still the hardest math of all. Altho I can solve calculus and differential equations without the help of my mom.

Depends 100% of the people evaluating you.
Industry position for something? It can range from "little bonus" to "I literally don't even care what degree you have, your science degree is 100% the same as a womens gender studies degree for this position, we literally only care that you got a degree, what even is this online certificate"
Its more important if you're jumping ship from say, wet lab work to computer sciencey stuff- they'll be interested in your skill set/what you know in the field you're trying to get into, and having some proof that you know anything in the field can help.

Online certificates are resume fluff. You can bring them up as a talking point during interviews if they led to a larger project, which would be a better thing to put on your resume.

I finished the ML and DL spec. with Andrew Ng and thougth they were pretty good courses. They are obviously more practical than theoretical but I think it's better when you learn how to do and then learn how things work with a lot of theory. That said, I'll use them more as a good resume filler for Linkedin as I'm an Electronics and Computer Eng. undergrad from a good school.

Now you may ask why? That’s because there are thousands and thousands who have this very same certificate. Just because all of them have it, does not prove that they’re all worthy of a job at the company that they’re applying too. The more certificates that have been a given out for a course, the less it becomes in valuation. At the end popular courses basically amount for less white space on your resume.

No one has ever asked to verify my online study (or even asked for my results to be honest). If they did and wouldn't accept me showing them my results then I'd ask them to pay for the cert, if it's that important for them they will.
