I hereby propose a solution to the hard problem of consciousness and to quantum mechanics.

Consciousness is the 5th fundamental force of physics. Conscious experience is nothing but an excitation of the consciousness quantum field. Its gauge boson is the qualion. When the consciousness field is coupling with another quantum field a qualion is exchanged, collapsing the wave function in the other field and transmitting the newly gained observation which then manifests itself in the observer as conscious experience (qualia). The qualion is a massless boson not interacting with gravity and thus inherently tachyonic, hence also providing a solution to the "spooky action at a distance".
