The two can look very similar to an outside observer since they elicit similar responses (destroy it, get away from it as fast as possible, try to ignore it, etc.). The same goes for homosexuality. Very few people are actually “transphobic” or “homophobic” in the sense that they fear trans or gay people, most are simply revolted by their lifestyle choices.
