Maybe it was tolerated to be gay in Germany before the national socialists, but suddenly you could be killed for it. Same with eating meat or anything, really. You're not "safe" just because you did this or that. That said, I don't think there's any danger from shitposting on 4chan, since a points over the year it was among the most used websites on the web (top 60 at one point)
