CO2 canisters are mostly liquid CO2 when pressurized. I need a controlled jet of liquid CO2 (-78C). Is there any reason I couldn't simply turn something like pic related upside down and regulate flow with a thumb lever air gun?

Are you going to fire it at -78 C? Because if you don't you're going to get instantly vaporizing co2 gas as it comes under normal pressure.

yeah you're right i forget that liquid CO2 isn't going to exist at 1 atm, but i should still get a particulate mist of solid CO2. i'm using it to spot cool a system, otherwise i'd use a CO2+acetone bath
