Just got done watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EyJzH6LY8bM and this guy's solution to cosmogony is really elegant and simple and requires zero mystical bullshit like strings or multiverses. What are /sci/s' thoughts? How many delicious salty tears can we expect from math gnostics aka "theoretical physicists"?

Are you dumb? Steinhardt–Turok cyclic model is done within the framework of String theory. It is based on two parallel orbifold planes or M-branes collide periodically in a higher-dimensional space.

Also, cyclic models are generally implausible due to entropy inevitably building up. There is no reason to expect the universe to be cyclic and there are reasons to expect the opposite.

This theory, if true, explains how Big Bang began. It does not disprove Big Bang, quite the opposite.

the universe is not going to crunch and expand. the universe expansion is accelerating and its going to continue to accelerate. if the big crunch model was accurate this wouldn't be happening it should be slowing down.
