Sup /sci/ usually dont come to this board but im looking for a good book on cryptography. Mainly applied cryptography and something a beginner could jump into.

I think Simon Signs "The Code Book" may be good for beginers but it may also be a meme-tier popsci book. If I remember correctly it looks more into the history of cryptology and introduces the concepts well, but it is not aimed to teach you how to do cryptology so you would have to find some extra resources on your own, mainly excercises. Maybe other anons could also give their opinions on this?

I know a good intro book but it's written in German and I'm not sure it has been translated to English. Beutelspacher is the author's name.

Ya that one is more of the history i was looking at a few sample pages of it. >>11931210 looks like there is a translation but it doesnt translate well. Still might check it out tho for the math behind it.
