How difficult would it be to locate new species of large fauna (bigger than a dog, say) using off-the-shelf drone technology and the AI python scripts available on github? I'm envisioning a fleet of drones sectioning off areas of forest/jungle and recording all large heat signatures on IR cameras. Then the images get passed to a neural net that tries to classify and tag them. A human operator can then browse the images by tag, e.g. "humanoid" when searching for bigfoot or missing persons. Is this feasible? Is it already in use?
