Is there a position, expertise, or concept surrounding people who are experts in pseudoscience? Such as a person who knows everything about astrology, but nothing about astronomy; or everything about alchemy, without knowing anything about chemistry. Furthermore, can you be considered an expert in a wide variety of pseudoscientific disciplines, in that you understand their beliefs and system; but you're taught or study such things in an academic environment?

For example, I remember that there was an expert at my university in the "history of magic," and one of my peers was going to study under him in relation to its involvement in English literature.

I'd think it would be cool to be a person who knew everything there was to know about antiquated or falsified sciences. That they could answer dozens of questions on how to summon demons, how to heal diseases with rhino horns, how to distribute humans into sub-species, how to change the weather with rituals, etc.

Would use /x/, but they actually believe in this stuff; may be better suited for /his/ since it's part of human cultural history. I mean "studying it academically, but understanding that it's just for fun, and has no scientific components," while still earning a position as an expert.
