This is a general, but important topic. How do you do it in 2020? I've begin by stating that I've read studies which state that the potential of distraction is a distraction in itself; simply owning a smartphone is distracting, even if it is in a drawer in another room, and modifying a smartphone to not allow certain distracting functions is still distracting because the potential still exists to revert the changes and your subconscious is aware of this at all times. How do we achieve the ideal of removing all distractions? You need a phone and email if you participate in society today, yet even a basic phone will contain a browser now, and therefore is still a source of distraction even if it is such an unoptimal device for browsing the internet. We all are well aware that unrestricted access to the internet is a major source of distraction. I've also read that using devices with multipe functions is a distraction.
