Now I’m no mathematician but in helping my friend with a math problem I found a very useless way of subtracting a number by 1

n/2+((n/2)-1+n mod(2)/2)+(n mod(2)/2)

Where n is the number you want to subtract by one. Anyone else have useless formulas like this?
