Anyone has any experience with online tutoring? Wondering what people invested in to tutor other people over the net.

I tutored through my school's website for a yearly program thing
I also did chegg last summer and it was annoying because you just sit online waiting for people to post a question that you can answer. then it's basically a mad dash to tell the student you can help them before anyone else does. so you have to be sitting online and not doing anything else (otherwise you might miss a question request) while only earning money if you're in a session.

Oh chegg looks interesting but the waiting game puts me off it.

I'm more interested in starting a independent private tutoring service since our uni only gives us opportunity to tutor first year undergrads whilst i feel like i can tutor from college to uni. I'm in the uk

good luck. you're competing with a lot of services that are already in place. your best bet is to find a few clients through personal connections and just agree on a price to tutor them, in my opinion.

Im a tutor through our free service we provide to students, the pay isn't great but it's hourly and there's always opportunity for advancement. I worked for one semester and now I lead the science team.

Yeah i was thinking of charging a low price since I'm not expecting to make much money off it anyways

My parents own a local fast food shop so I was thinking they can advertise there, and I'm also going to be putting up some ads on social media and videos going over harder questions and concepts
