I want to go to uni, but I don't wanna fuck up my choice so I am resorting to here for answers.
- What are your criteria for a good uni, and what are the warning signs?
- What are the things to be suspicious of
- What are BIG FAT RED FLAGS that the uni is shit or is run by propoganda pushers/money suckers?

Personally, I've seen so much propoganda of modern-style campuses with "state of the art facilities", yet the only uni in the country that is in the top 50 is an old piece of architecture from 19th century. I don't know how to evaluate their reputations. I also don't think I'm good enough for Ivy League schools.

Any help or discussions is appreciated.

Dont know about Australia. I am studying Mathematics in Germany - if i would have to look for a university again i would pay more attention to the city. Studying in a city you dont like sucks.
I dont know how it works in Australia but in Germany i would look for how big the IT Department is/ if its well funded.

This. Besides the pozzed classes I have to take for the honors meme, most STEM classes are too busy to get into that shit. The closest thing I can think of is when we covered stability of systems in differential equations and he used it to talk about climate change.

Check the Carnegie classification. It has every variable you desire.

If you do not want BIG FAT RED FLAG schools,stay faaaaaaaaaar far away from Big pacific universities or big east coast universities. Those are the greatest attraction of SJWs and money suckers you will see. Especially the bay area and New York.

Other than that, look into your major and see if the department is strong enough that you can pay off your work in the long run.
