If I’m studying prostate cancer is it really reasonable to do double the work just cause using a particular predictor offends you? Not to mention how ridiculous the idea that a variable having so many such nearly 1 correlations being an a complete fabrication is. But other times it’s not so useful. As a scientist, it’s your job to determine that. As a good one, it’s your job to not let irrelevant politics affect that decision.
