Yes yes yes it’s because we literally cannot rationalize infinity as a concept: we can come infinitely close to infinity but we will never actually get to it, we will always still be infinitely far away no matter what. You can’t be undefined away because you have to be infinitely far away still. We just aren’t capable of rationalizing infinity.

Maybe asymptotic patterns appear in the real world, but true asymptotes don’t. Nothing in our universe is measurably infinite. Infinity itself is just a useful tool in math to simplify equations and approximate values. It’s not any sort of number and it’s impossible by definition to represent in our universe

Black holes are simply curvatures so deep nothing can escape from them. That doesn’t even imply infinity.

If you’re talking about a singularity, singularities themselves are when something is so extremely dense, quantum physics breaks down and can’t be used to explain the behavior. It’s not that it’s actually infinitely dense, it’s that it’s so dense that relativity can’t explain it and we can’t fully understand how it behaves

Nope, I'm pointing to equations where there exists a natural asymptote to prove the concept occurs naturally. Such as the gravitational acceleration close to a Black Hole's singularity.

Other equations where this occurs is the Lorentz Factor, or, for an example closer to home, the the filling of a lavatory cistern, where the rate of flow gets infinitely smaller as the cistern fills up.

We can’t try to rationalize it as anything more than a concept because there are literally infinite laws governing how infinity works. We can eternally pull these kinds of truths out, but we will always be infinitely far away and thus never able to figure out what it is: we are finite and our time on earth is finite.
